Special Event Volunteer Opportunities

21 Take Over (December 13th) - At this fun adults-only event, the adults get to be the kids for the evening and play in our museum!  


Polar Express (December 14th) – Celebrate the season at this themed family event!  Listen The Conductor, read the Polar Express, meet Santa and play in a winter wonderland.


The Magic of  The 21 Takeover and The Polar Express is a resulting work of a small army of people.  Join the “army” today.  There is a special task for everybody.  We can’t do it without your help and it’s FUN.

  • Prep materials before the big days – wrapping boxes, tying bows, assembling ticket packets.  Work here at Kid Time or in the comfort of your own home.  

  • Decorating and transforming Kid Time into a winter wonderland starts on the evening of Thursday, December 12th then continues all day on Friday, December 13th.  Join the transformation fun.

  • Assist at the 21 Take Over on December 13th - Adults only please. decorate gingerbread men, join the snowball fights, greet visitors and more.

  • Assist at the Polar Express on December 14th – decorate cookies, join the reindeer games, play with visitors on the dance floor or in the snowball fights and many more opportunities.  In addition to many general positions, we are in need of some characters – Santa, Mrs. Claus, Reindeer, and The Conductor (from the Polar Express). 


Volunteers for either of these two events and receive half off admission to the event of your choice (21 Take Over or Polar Express) for you and the members in your household.  For student volunteers - your hours can be counted as community service hours.

Play and Learn Family Nights – These events, presented by The Learning Loft Preschool, are educational play experiences for both children and adults.  Assist with child care on these nights. Have fun playing with children in the Art Room and Brain Forest from 5:30 to 6:30 PM.

Dates: Nov. 21, 2019; Jan. 23, 2020; Mar. 19, 2020; Apr. 23, 2020; May 21, 2020.
